According to the survey on the all types of 19500 enterprises across the country conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, the data showed that the national enterprise business boom index in the first quarter was 139.7, the same level with last quarter and 8.2 points higher than the same time of last year. Comparing with the same period of these years, the national enterprise business boom has kept on the high level since the first half year of 2003.

    1. The business boom indices of all types of enterprises were up. The business boom indices of the state-owned, collective-owned, the share cooperative, limited liability companies, the share limited liability companies, private, foreign and Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan investment enterprises were 137.5,116.3,121.1,137.8,154.2,131.2 and 142.3 respectively. Comparing with the fourth quarter of last year, those of state-owned, collective-owned enterprises and the share limited liability companies rose a little; Comparing with the same period of last year, those of all types enterprises went up.

    2. The business boom indices of wholesale and retail trade, the transport, storage and postal services were obviously up. Those were 151.7 and 137.7 respectively, up by 7.1 and 12.4 over the fourth quarter of last year and by 10.5 points and 9.4 points over the same time of last year, and reached the highest point in recent years. That of catering, manufacturing, real estate development and social services rose by 148.8, 139.3, 138.8 and 128.1 respectively, up by 1.1, 1.0, 5.1 and 0.5 over the fourth quarter of last year and by 13.5,11.4,5.8 and 5.2 points over the same time of last year. That of construction, information transmission and computer services and software industry, boarding were 127.7, 155.1 and 116.5 respectively, down by 10.4, 1.9 and 8.9 points over the fourth quarter of last year, but up 3.5, 1.3 and 2.5 points over the same time of last year. That of mining, supply of electricity, fuel gas and water were 157.9 and 137.0, down over the fourth quarter of last year and the same time of last year.

    3. The business boom index of the large-sized enterprises was obviously higher than that of the medium- and small-sized enterprises. The business boom indices of the large-, the medium- and small-sized enterprises were 162.7,126.7 and 116.7 respectively, and those of the large-sized enterprises were 40.0 points higher than the others. Comparing with the fourth quarter of last year, that of large-sized enterpriser rose a little and that of the medium- and small-sized enterprises kept the same level. Comparing with the same period of last year, those of the large-, the medium- and small-sized enterprise rose by 13.3 points, 4.9 points and 3.8 points respectively.

    4. The business boom indices of the enterprises in the eastern, central and western region increased at the same time. Those were 143.9, 138.0 and 132.8 separately, with the same level or up a little over the fourth quarter of last year; and rose by 10.1, 5.5 and 8.7 points over the same time of last year respectively.

    5. The enterprise business boom of state experimental enterprise groups, marketing company and key enterprises all kept on the high level. The indices were 159.5,161.6, and 167.0 respectively. Those of state experimental enterprise groups and key enterprises were up over the fourth quarter of last year, and that of marketing company kept the same level; Comparing with the same period of last year, the indices of state experimental enterprise groups, marketing company and key enterprises were an obvious increase, with the range of 12-22 points.
