In the first quarter of this year, the consumer confidence index was 94 points, and the indices for January to March were 94.5, 93.6 and 94.2 respectively, keeping the same level with last December.
From January to March the consumer expectation indices reflecting the economic prospect in the next several months from consumers were 95.8, 95.9 and 96.7 respectively, rising at the base of 95.9 point of last December.
In March the proportion of consumers who expect the individual or family income in the future will ascend or keep unchanged reached 64%; over 60% of consumers held very optimistic expectation toward the China' s economy of the coming year.
From January to March the satisfaction indices toward the present economic situation of consumers were 92.6, 90.8 and 90.4 points respectively, yet the satisfaction index in March fell by 1.7 point than 92.1 of last December. The survey showed the consumer confidence index fell, mainly because of consumer dissatisfaction with the quality of goods and consumer environment also.
