National Industrial Production Grew 19.1% in April.

The value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size was RMB￥ 1570 billion from January to April, a year-on-year rise of 18.2%. Among that, the valued-added in April was RMB￥ 437.1 billion, up 19.1% over the same period of last year, as the same level as last month.

There were some features of industrial production in April as follows:

Firstly, the heavy industry grew faster than the light industry. In April, the value-added of heavy industry reached RMB 294.5 billion, a rise of 21.4% over the same month of last year. The value-added of light industry was RMB142.5 billion, up 16.6%. The heavy industry increased faster than the light industry by 4.8 percentage points.

Secondly, the production of main products of energy, raw materials and some hot consumer goods still kept increasing largely. In April, the production of raw coals grew by 18.6% and the generation of electricity rose by 16.2% over the same month of last year. The output of cement and flat glass increased 16.8% and 36% respectively. Those of crude steel and steel products grew 20.6% and 23.4% respectively. Those of aluminum and alumina went up 20.2% and 14.8% respectively. The production of micro-electronic computers gained in 42.1%, among which, that of notepad computers got a rise of 100.8%. The production of mobile phones increased 65.6%. The production of auto grew 34.6%, which includes the production of saloon cars had a rise of 42.6%.

Thirdly, the export consignment value of industrial products continuously grew fast. In April, the export consignment value of industrial enterprises reached RMB282.8 billion, a year-on-year rise of 32.7%，which was 3.9 percentage points higher than the rise of the same month of last year.

Fourthly, the link-up level of production and sale grew slightly. In April, the sale rate of industrial products was 97.24%, up 0.16 percentage point than the same month of last year.

Note: The industrial enterprises above designated size refer to all the state-owned, and non state-owned enterprises with the annual sales revenue of over 5 million yuan.
