According to the rule ¡° Reformation on Calculation and Distribution Procedure of China GDP¡± issued last year, the NBS adjusted the GDP preliminary statistics of the first quarter in 2004. The industries of which the GDP has been adjusted were the transport, storage & post services, and the preliminary statistics of other industries have no change. The data in detail were as follows:
In the first quarter of year 2004, the preliminary statistics of GDP is now 2712.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 9.8%, compared with the original preliminary statistics, the GDP was enhanced by 2.2 billion yuan and its year-on-year rise was 0.1 percentage point higher. Due to the adjustment of the transport, storage & post services and other services, the value-added of the tertiary industry was up 2.2 billion yuan and its year-on-year growth rate was raised by 0.3 percentage point, and so the preliminary statistics of the value-added of the tertiary industry was 946.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 8%.
