In this July, the national consumer price index went up 5.3% over last July, specifically speaking, that in the urban area rose 4.9% and that in the rural area went up 5.9%. Compared with last month, the general consumer index declined 0.2%.
Analyzed by region, the consumer price indices in all the 31 provinces(regions or municipalities directly under the central government) rose in comparison with that in last July, with the increase of between 2.4% and 7.5%. Especially, the regions with the more rises were Henan(up 7.5%), Yunnan(up 7.4%), Guangxi(up 6.5%).
Analyzed by category, the price of foods was up 14.6% over last July, that of non-foods climbed 0.8%, that of consumer goods surged up 6.3%, that of services went up 2.0%.
Among the foods and similar products, the price of grain was up 31.8%, that of grease was up 23.3%, that of meat, poultry and their products climbed 22.9%, that of fresh eggs was up 34.2%, that of aquatic products went up 17.3%, that of fresh vegetables ascended 13.4%.
The price of clothes went down 1.6%, of which, that of garments dropped 1.7%.
The price of home appliances and repairs descended 1.2%, of which, that of durable consumer goods dropped 2.5%, that of home services and repairs went up 1.7%.
The price of the medical treatment & health care and individual-used articles fell 1.2%, specifically speaking, that of western medicines dropped 5.8%, that of the Chinese medicine materials and traditional Chinese prepared medicines declined 3.4%, however, the price of the services in medical treatment and health care rose 3.7%.
The price for transport and communications dropped 1.2%, of which, that of transport tools declined 3.5%, but that of vehicle-used fuels and parts went up 9.6%, that for vehicle use and repairs rose 1.4%, that of transport fees between cities was up 2.9%, that of communications tools went down 15.2%.
The price of recreational, educational and cultural articles rose 1.1%, of which, the price for tuition, miscellaneous fees and baby nursery climbed 2.5%, that of recreation rose 3.9%, that of travel and going out was up 3.5%, however, that of the durable consumer goods for recreation declined 6.3%.
The price of housing ascended 5.0%, of which, the price for water, electricity and fuels rose 7.6%, that of building and upholstering materials went up 4.9%, that of renting houses rose 2.8%.
The general consumer goods in the first seven months of this year rose 3.8% over the same period of last year.
