In this September, the national general consumer price level rose 5.2% over last September, specifically speaking, that in urban area went up 4.5%, that in rural area climbed 6.4%. Compared with this August, the general consumer price level rose 1.1%.

    Analyzed by region, the consumer prices in the 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) were all higher over last September with the rises of between 2.4% and 8.4%.

    Analyzed by category, the prices of foods rose 13.0% over last September, that of non-foods climbed 1.3%, that of consumer goods surged up 6.0%, that of services ascended 2.6%.

    Among the prices of foods, the price of grain went up 31.7%, that of grease rose 21.2%, that of meat, poultry and their products went up 22.4%, that of fresh eggs rose 28.1%, that of aquatic products was up 13.9%, that of fresh vegetables rose 1.0%.

    The price of clothes went down 1.6%, especially, that of garment descended 1.7%.

    The price of home apparatuses and their repairs dropped 1.1%, specifically speaking, that of durable goods went down 2.5%, that of home services, processing and repairs rose 2.3%.

    The price of medical treatment & health care and individual articles went down 0.8%, of which, that of western medicines dropped 5.1%, that of traditional Chinese medicine materials and Chinese prepared medicines declined 2.4%, but that of medical care services rose 3.8%.

    The price of transport and communications went down 1.2%, of which, that of transport tools was down 3.5%£¬ but that of vehicle-used fuel and parts & fittings climbed 13.7%, that of vehicle using and repairs rose 1.6%, the fee for transport between cities rose 2.9%, that of communications tools declined 16.0%.

    The price of recreational, educational and cultural articles and services went up 1.9%, specifically speaking, that of tuition &, miscellaneous fees, fees for committing child to kindergarten rose 4.4%, that of recreation went up 1.5%, that of travel and hanging out went up 2.3%, but that of durable equipment for recreation went down 6.4%¡£

    The price of housing went up 6.4%. Especially, the price of water, electricity and fuel went up 10.5%, that of building and upholstering materials rose 5.4%, that of renting houses climbed 3.0%.

    The consumer price index in the first nine months of this year rose 4.1%.
