The survey on the production prices of nationwide 31000 agricultural production management entities conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics indicated that, in the first quarter of this year, the production price of the agricultural products rose 6.4% over the same period of last year. The production prices of farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery products went up 4.2%, 2.6%, 10% and 5.8% respectively.
Among the farming products, the production price of grain climbed 6.6% year on year. Especially, that of corns rose 8%, that of wheat went up 9.4%, that of maize rose 1.2%, that of rice went up 13%, that of bean and the like stayed the roughly same level with the same period of last year, that of yam ascended 3.1%. The price of cotton dropped 22%, that of oil crops declined 0.6%, that of sugar crops rose 7.6%, those of vegetables and fruits went up 5.2% and 2.5% respectively, that of tea leaves surged up 11%, that of tobacco leaves went up 1%.
Among the forestry products, the production price of timber rose 2.9% year on year, that of bamboo went up 6%, that of gelatine and forestry products with fruits rose 2.4%.
Among the livestock products, the price for selling live pigs rose 11.9% year on year, that of cattle for beef climbed 2.9%, that of live goat ascended 5.1%, that of milky products went up 1.2%, that of wool products rose 7.6%, that of poultry and their eggs went up 10.5% and 12% respectively.
Among the fishery products, the price of seafood rose 0.9% year on year, that of sea fish climbed 0.2%, that of seashell rose 5.1%; that of fresh water products went up 10.4%, that of freshwater fish rose 10%, that of freshwater shrimp and crab went up 16.8%.
Note: The production price of agricultural products means the unit price of these products when the farmers directly sell them.
