From January to October, the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 4,027.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5 percent. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles reached 3,657.5 billion yuan, down 0.9 percent.
From January to October, the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 36,057.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.6 percent. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles reached 32,370.2 billion yuan, up 0.5 percent.
According to the location of business units, the retail sales of urban consumer goods in October was 3,489.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.6 percent; the retail sales of rural consumer goods reached 537.4 billion yuan, up 0.2 percent. From January to October, the retail sales of urban consumer goods reached 31,264.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5 percent; the retail sales of rural consumer goods reached 4,792.6 billion yuan, up 0.8 percent.
According to consumption types, in October, the retail sales of goods reached 3,617.1 billion yuan, an increase of 0.5 percent year-on-year; catering revenue was 409.9 billion yuan, down 8.1 percent. From January to October, the retail sales of goods reached 32,522.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.2 percent; catering revenue was 3,534.8 billion yuan, down 5 percent.
According to the retail formats, from January to October, the retail sales of supermarkets, convenience stores, professional stores and specialty stores in retail enterprises above designated size increased by 3.7, 4.6, 4.6 and 0.7 percent respectively year-on-year, while that of department stores decreased by 6.8 percent.
From January to October, the national online retail sales reached 10,954.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent. Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods reached 9,450.6 billion yuan, up 7.2 percent, accounting for 26.2 percent of the total retail sales of social consumer goods; among the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing and consumer goods increased by 16.7, 5.3 and 6.5 percent respectively.
