From January to August, the national fixed asset investment (excluding rural households) was 34,691.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent; it was 8.2 percent higher than that from January to August 2019, with an average growth of 4.0 percent in the two years. Among them, private fixed asset investment was 19,855.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.5 percent. On a month-on-month basis, investment in fixed assets (excluding rural households) increased by 0.16 percent in August.
By industry, the investment in the primary industry was 904.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.1 percent; the investment in the secondary industry was 10,491.1 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9 percent; the investment in the tertiary industry was 23,295.4 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8 percent.
In the secondary industry, industrial investment increased by 12.9 percent year-on-year. Among them, investment in mining industry increased by 6.7 percent, investment in manufacturing industry increased by 15.7 percent, and investment in power, heat, gas and water production and supply industry increased by 1.1 percent.
In the tertiary industry, infrastructure investment (excluding power, heat, gas and water production and supply) increased by 2.9 percent year-on-year. Among them, investment in water conservancy management increased by 7.3 percent, investment in public facilities management increased by 0.7 percent, investment in road transportation increased by 2.1 percent, and investment in railway transportation decreased by 4.8 percent.
By region, investment in the eastern region increased by 8.2 percent, that in the central region increased by 15.7 percent, that in the western region increased by 7.5 percent and that in the northeast region increased by 8.7 percent.
According to the types of registration, the investment of domestic enterprises increased by 8.7 percent, that of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises increased by 15.7 percent and that of foreign enterprises increased by 8.1 percent.
